Women soccer fiesta in Accra

The Greater Accra Women Soccer Committee (GAWSOC) would in conjunction with the Delorm Soccer Academy, Akwatia, organise a one-day women Gala Competition at the Accra Sports Stadium, on March 29.

The competition dubbed "The Deelorm GAWSOC GALA" would feature 16 female soccer clubs across the country with Greater Accra having the highest number of participants.

According to a statement signed by Mr. George Lawson, Vice Chairman of the committee, Great Mawuena Ladies, Street Academy, Ashaiman Ladies, Bluna Ladies, Post Ladies, Tesano Ladies, La Ladies, GHATEL Ladies, Nungua Ladies, Dansoman Ladies, Tema Mahean Ladies and British Council COMSPORT Ladies would represent Accra.

The statement said GHATEL Ladies from Takoradi and Deelorm Ladies from Akwatia would represent Western region, while Peki ladies from the Volta region and another GHATEL Ladies team from Sunyani are expected to take part.

The statement said a flat rate of 5,000 cedis would be charged at the gate, which would be used to aid the development of women soccer in the country.
