The Word of Life Cathedral in Accra, on Sunday held a church service in honour of Black Challenge, for winning a bronze medal at the persons with disability Africa Cup of Nations in Kenya.
The team qualified to represent Ghana at the world cup in Mexico next year.
Dr Lawrence Tetteh, Founder and President of UK-based World Miracle Outreach and Chairman of the Advisory Board of the team said the public should not view persons with disability as people who cannot make it in life when given the chance.
He said the splendid performance of the team in Kenya shows that with determination they could fly high the flag of Ghana.
Dr Tetteh asked stakeholders to give the team the necessary support and encouragement to make Ghana proud in Mexico.
He said every sport is important in Ghana since sports had always served as a platform to unite Ghanaians.
“Let Ghanaians be proud of Black Challenge for the honour they have brought to the country,” he said.
Bishop Isaac Quaye, Leader of the Cathedral asked the Church to care for persons with disability and pray for them.
