The Minister of Youth and Sports, Honorable Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, has reiterated the need to garner support for the Black Stars ahead of the 2018 World Cup qualifier, suggesting he will take the lead to Tamale where the match will be played.
The Black Stars face off against the Cranes of Uganda on Friday, October 7, 2016 in Group D’s opener.
The sports minister has emphasized the need to put all issues aside and concentrate on the upcoming task for the nation, as it supersedes all personal differences.
In an interview with Accra-based radio station, Happy Fm, the minister said: “I will be leaving for Tamale either this evening or tomorrow morning.
“Everything, with regards to their accommodation has been well taken care of.
“I will deliver whatever message the President of the Republic has for them and I pray they listen to it in good faith and do their best for the country.”
Meanwhile, the Black Stars are due to have their first training session this morning at the Accra Sports Stadium and leave for tamale at exactly 4pm.
