Wrap of Ghanaian players in CAF inter-clubs competitions

The second legs of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup came off on Tuesday and Wednesday with some Ghanaian players making marks.

CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

It was a delightful and unforgettable debut for striker Adams Zikiru after bagging four goals in ZESCO United's 7-0 drubbing of Zanzibar champions JKU SC.

The Zambian champions progress to the next round with a 7-0 aggregate and will next face Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas in March.

Seye Sebe Baffour played 90 minutes for Horoya AC in Guinea on Wednesday as they drew 0-0 at home to Nigerien side AS FAN.

Horoya AC advanced to the next round with a 3-1 aggregate. They will tackle Senegal champions Generation Foot in two weeks time.

Solomon Alorwordor, Nuhu Salifu and Daniel Sosah lasted the entire duration of the game for AS FAN whilst Alfred Kumah was a second half substitute.

Gabonese giants CF Mounana secured a place in the first round of the CAF Champions League on Wednesday after beating Rail Club Kadiogo of Burkina Faso by 2-0 to overturn 1-0 deficit in the first leg.

Samuel Akwasi Amoto enjoyed 90 minutes action for the Burkinabe champions.

CAF CONFEDERATION CUP

Simba SC of Tanzania completed a double over Djiboutian outfit Gerndamerie FC with a 1-0 victory at away on Tuesday. They progressed on 4-0 aggregate.

Ghanaian trio Akwasi Asante, James Agyekum Kotei and Nicholas Gyan all saw 90 minutes of action in the fixture.

Daniel Adjei Boateng played 90 minutes for Niger's Sahel SC when they suffered a 3-0 humiliation at home to Libyan giants Al Ittihad Tripoli.

The Libyans advance to the next round with a 4-0 aggregate.

Nana Akosah-Bempah was substituted in the 68th minute when Cape Town City FC pipped Swaziland side Young Buffaloes on Tuesday.

The South Africans qualify to the next stage of the competition with a 2-0 aggregate victory.

Isaac Oduro saw his side AFC Leopards bow out of the CAF Confederation Cup after playing 0-0 with Fosa Juniors in Madagascar on Wednesday.

He lasted the entire duration of the game. Fosa Juniors made it to the next round with an away goal rule since the first leg ended 1-1 in Kenya.

It was an unfortunate afternoon for centre back Richmond Opoku Manu who scored an own goal to eliminate his side Africa Sports Abidjan from the competition after coming on as a substitute in the second half.

They lost 1-0 to Mauritanian outfit FC Nouadhibou on Wednesday.
