Ghana’s official frequency for the young and young at heart, Y 107.9FM in collaboration with Stone Strong Lager has launched the third edition of the annual Pool Tournament for 2012.
The Y FM/Stone Pool Tournament is an exciting six-week pool games competition across the country. There are game centres in Accra, Tema, Sunyani, Koforidua, Takoradi and Kumasi. Lovers of the sport stand the chance to meet and compete with one another and win lots of prizes and giveaways.
Sponsored by Stone Strong Lager, the event will span two weekends in Accra; a weekend each in other centres.
Launching this year’s edition, General Manager of Y FM, Nana Kwame Osei Sarpong remarked that; ‘Pool is a sport that requires tenacity, passion and focus. These are some of the values that Y FM wants to celebrate with the players who will make a difference in this tournament. He added that: ‘the competition has improved over the years and we are spreading our tentacles this year so that many more people can participate in the tournament.’
Sales and Distribution Director of Accra Brewery Limited, Werner Vosloo said; ‘Partnering with Y FM on this particular event over the years has been overwhelming. We are proud of all participants and winners in the previous editions. We are looking forward to a fierce competition this year and as such, we are encouraging interested persons to pick up forms at designated centres and be a part of this great event.’
Last year’s edition saw Aderibigbe Adegbite emerging as the overall winner of the competition.
