C. K Akonnor thinks the Burkinabe will need at least two weeks to be back to full fitness.
With less than seven days to their CAF Confederation Cup game against Kariobangi Sharks in Kenya Asante Kotoko are still sweating on the fitness of their top marksman Songne Yacouba.
The Burkinabe import underwent kidney stones surgery two weeks ago and resumed group training just last week.
Yacouba made a second-half cameo in Kotoko’s 3-0 victory over Black Meteors coming on for Naby Keita.
But head coach of Asante Kotoko Akonnor has revealed that the player will need two weeks to recover from his recent illness.
“He was sick, he is just coming back. I believe in two weeks time he will be 100%. As at now, he is not there yet. Small small he will get there” Akonnor told the media after their game against the National under 23 side.
Yacouba is likely to start from the bench on Saturday when Kotoko face Kariobangi Sharks in Nairobi.
