FC Azam striker Yahaya Mohammed has claimed that he can use his pocket money to purchase a player from the Ghana Premier League.

The 28-year old maverick forward, who joined Tanzanian side on a two-year deal from Aduana Stars in the off season believes his financial status has improved since moving to the East African nation, and therefore can afford the luxury of purchasing a player from the Ghanaian-top flight league from his own account.

''I can use my one month salary here in Tanzania to recruit a premier league player in Ghana,'' Yahaya told Kumasi-based Silver FM.

“If a club in Ghana can buy a player at a price of 10,000 GHC to 20,000 GHC with the highest being 40,000 GHC; what shows that I can't do same with my current financial status in Tanzania?”

''So, I'm saying this without mincing a word in my submission that I can recruit one player in Ghana with my one month salary,'' he bragged.

He continued: '' In fact, the working condition in Tanzania is very good as a footballer. The people have invested well into the league. The players are somehow well-off as their salaries are substantial. There's no doubt that the talent in Ghana can't be compare to that of Tanzania, but the truth is; football authorities here have pumped in a lot of money in the league which has made it attractive to the comfort of playing body,'' he reckons.
