Former Accra Hearts of Oak defender, Dan Quaye, has delivered a serious caution to the current squad, warning of potential curses if their performance leads to the club's relegation.

Quaye, in his address to Akoma 87.9 FM, voiced his dissatisfaction with the team's recent form, which has resulted in only one victory in their last five matches.

He pointed out that the players' negligent actions have contributed to the club's precarious standing, urging them to adopt a more professional attitude to prevent relegation.

The ex-defender also underscored the profound cultural connection between the team and the Ga and Ashanti communities, noting that these groups might resort to cursing the players should they fail to prevent the club's demotion.

"A curse may befall the players if they persist with their negligent conduct and cause Hearts of Oak to be relegated, a situation we've never faced during our time," he stated.

"These players have tarnished the club's previously successful records, and it's imperative they rectify this. Conversely, we, the Ga and Ashanti people, will not shy away from cursing them if they lead us to relegation.

"It's essential for them to take their responsibilities seriously, as their performance directly correlates with our current predicament. Just as Santos, a historic Brazilian city, has faced relegation, so too could my beloved club," Quaye concluded.
