Young Ghanaian Striker Takes Germany By Storm

Former Black Starlets striker Gado Mohammed has been pencilled down by officials of his German Bundesliga team Borussia Moenchengladbach for promotion next season following his marvellous form for the junior team so far this season.

Reports monitored from Germany indicates that head coach of the junior team of Borussia Moenchengladbach, Uli Sude has sent a report to the coaching staff of the senior team recommending Gado Mohammed for the senior team for next season.


The 18 year old Ghanaian striker has thrilled the junior leagues in Germany in the past year since joining Borussia Moenchengladbach on observation from Ghanaian first division team Tudu Mighty Jets. He ended the 2001/2002 junior league season as the highest scorer with 22 goals and he his reported to have scored some 13 goals so far in the league as the leading scorer for his team.

He was a member of the 2000 Ghana national U-17 team that played in the Meridian Cup tournament in Bari, Italy, that also revealed players like Sulley Muntari, Daniel Coleman with Lawrence Awuley Quaye as the captain. Gado was invited to join the 2003 Black Satellites team that played in the just ended Africa Youth Cup in Burkina Fasso but an injury to his ankle kept him out of the team.


Tudu Mighty Jets are also reported to be following this development closely since the promotion of Gado Mohammed to the senior team of Borussia Moenchangladbach will bring the transfer fees of the player to Ghanaian team.He is the third Ghanaian player to play for the German team after Edwin Bediako and striker Lawrence Aidoo.
