Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has revealed his frustration over his lingering injury at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 26-year-old made it to the tournament just on the heels of a recovery from a hamstring injury but admitted he had been playing through pain at the tournament.

The gradually increasing pain according to the Al Ain striker is badly affecting his game which has now resulted in his only one goal scored in the competition after so much promise in the buildup.

“As at now it has been frustrating for somebody like me but I don’t blame myself,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“My fitness level, like anytime I go to the filed I feel very heavy in my legs and I feel like anytime I spin I am going to get injured or something.

“So I am just trying harder and harder but I think it is alright and let’s hope for the next game.

“If Ghana wins I think everybody is happy, it has been really difficult for me at this moment but I think I will get over it.”

Ghana were 2-1 winners over Tunisia on Sunday to book a semi final date with Zambia in yet another game Gyan failed to score.

The Black Stars will play the Chipolopolo in Bata on Wednesday to fight for a place in Sunday’s final.
