As a student at Golden Sunbeam Adentan, Ezekiel was an intelligent student, apart from his academic prowess he was also a good basket ball player. He attended Presbyterian Boys School and had amazing results.

His rise to fame cannot be told without mentioning The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In 2007, Ezekiel was referred by Amanda Opare to LDS missionaries-Elders Enyi-Ineh (Nigerian) & Waweru (Kenyan) and they started teaching him, but it was Elders Friei and Thatcher both Americans that baptized him. So that was how he joined the Mormon faith.

He got a scholarship to attend BYU, his attempts to play basket ball failed and he decides to try American football, a game that is not of interest to Africans. His story and rise to this level is great news for Ghana.

Since he went to America he has not returned home and perhaps when he visits anytime, he returns as a super star and will contribute in no small measure to the development of his people.

Ezekiel Ansah was among the top 5 drafted at the NFL 2013 draft, he will be playing for Detroit Lions. He was the first top-5 selection from BYU since Jim McMahon in 1982.

His story is important to us here in Adentan because he was part of us, and left from here and will return here one day. It is equally a success story for his family, friends down here who although may not see all that is going on but knows from Facebook comments and so forth. From us here atadentan.com, we wish him a successful career in the NFL.
