Ghana defender Baba Rahman could be set for regular playing time at Chelsea following the injury to his team-mate Kurt Zouma.
The French defender's season is over and he will be away from the football pitch for at least six months.
Zouma's injury is going to leave the Blues with few options as the transfer window closed last week.
This means the Chelsea must switch positions for some to fill the position of Zouma with Cesar Azpilicueta or Branislav Ivanovic tipped to be moved to centre-back.
The 21-year-old Ghanaian has failed to dislodge either Cesar Azpilicueta or Branislav Ivanovic, the club's two first-choice full-backs.
If Azpilicueta or Ivanovic is moved to the central defence, this will create some opportunity for Baba to play some matches for the starting team of Chelsea.
The 21-year-old is growing frustrated on the bench of the Blues following a high profile transfer from German side Augsburg in the summer.
With limited first team opportunities and interest from several top-flight swere rumoured to be keen on allowing the Ghanaian youngster to move if the right offer comes.
The Ghanaian left-back has made only four league appearances since moving to Stamford Bridge for £14million from Bundesliga side Augsburg.
