Apart from entering the history books as the leading scorer with 16 goals, the Ghanaian International would become the first African to play in three finals of the competition with two teams.

Ghanaian International forward Joetex Frimpong on Saturday night qualified to play in his third CAF Champions League final after helping his Tunisian side, Club Sportive Sfaxien, defeat Orlando Pirates of South Africa 1-0 on aggregate.

Although Frimpong was not on the score sheet, he was instrumental to his team's victory. The Ghanaian star hit a shot from a tight angle that was deflected by the Pirates goalkeeper, Avril Phadi, into the legs of Frimpong's teammate, Tarek Ziadi, who scored for the Tunisians.

Frimpong expressed satisfaction with his performance after the match.

"I came here to help Sfaxien win the Champions League. I am happy we are in the final. But my mission would only be accomplished when we win the Cup. It's great to know that I am in my third Champions League final," he told the media.

Joetex Frimpong, who played for the Black Stars of Ghana in the last Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, also played in the 2003 and 2004 MTN Champions League with Enyimba. Interesting, he was on the winning side on both occasions.
