After over a year of the senior national soccer team, Black Stars participation at the last World Cup in Germany, officials of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) are yet to fulfill their promise to all five members of the team that were put on the stand-by list.
The players, Asante Kotoko’s duo, Yusif Alhassan Chibsah, Aziz Ansah, goalkeeper Philemon McCarthy of relegated Premier League side Feyenoord, Russia based Baffour Gyan and Baba Adamu Amando, according to investigation, were promised an amount of $10.000 after they had held discussions with GFA officials while in Germany ahead of the tournament to take into consideration their presence and involvement in almost all the preparatory games ahead of the World Cup considering the fact that each player that had made it on the final list was to receive an amount of $50.000 being an appearance fee.
According to the investigation, consistent effort by the five players to get their monies from the football federation have proved futile since after almost a year, their request seem to be on a deaf ear.
However, a close source at the FA has revealed to this website that officials at the federation have included in the accounts concerning Ghana’s participation at the Germany World Cup that the promised amount has been paid to all the five stand-by players.
