After scoring as many as sixty-seven league goals since his arrival in Italy exactly four years ago, Ghanaian born international striker Didi Darlington Dadzie’s dream of featuring at the elite division of Italian football seems to becoming a reality.
The Ghanaian is reported to have impressed officials of the Serie A club as well as two Serie B clubs, who watched most of his club’s league matches last season and have all poised to secure the services of the Ghanaian forward.
According to officials of the Serie A club, they need Didi as a back-up to their three existing strikers ahead of the 2007/8 soccer season.
Didi, who played for Tema based Division One side, Seven United before leaving for Italy in the 2003 soccer season, has so far featured for three Italian Serie C sides where he was crowned with the Italian Serie C Goal king Award on two occasions.
Should his move to the Serie A become a reality, then Didi will become the second Ghanaian player after Ahmed Apimah Barrusso, who was signed by A.S Roma last month to join the elite division of Italian soccer ahead of the 2007/8 football season.
Born in Tema in the Greater Accra region of Ghana some twenty-three years ago, Didi who stands at six and a half feet tall appears to be a well built striker who can definitely succeed in the Italian Serie A, should he be given the opportunity to prove his worth.
Since moving to Italy, Didi, has so far featured three clubs namely, Fincantieri, A.S Misilmeri and currently with A.S Panormus, where he scored thirty-five goals out of sixty games to win the goal king chart in the 2005/6 football season.
