Accra, Nov. 25, GNA - Samuel Anim of Young Stars Cycling Club produced a last minute finishing power to win the Pure Joy Tour d' Accra Cycling Race held in Accra on Sunday.
The 27-year old Anim who trailed behind the other 49 contestants in the race which began from Nungua through Achimota through some other suburbs of the city won the event in a time of two hours, 47.18 minutes. Francis Tetteh of City Micro placed second in a time of two hours 48 minutes while Joseph Annan of Guten Club took the third position. Anim received a 21-inch colour television set, a medal and an amount of 300 Ghana Cedis as his prize, Tetteh had a 14-inch colour television, a medal and cash of 250 Ghana cedis while Annan also received a 14-inch colour television, a medal and a cash of 200 Ghana Cedis.
Riders from the fourth to 10th positions had consolation prizes. Mr Samuel Atuahene, Greater Accra Regional Sports Development Officer thanked T.T. Brothers Limited for sponsoring the event and called on other corporate bodies to help develop the sport. 25 Nov. 07
