Accra, Nov. 30, GNA - The Professional League Board (PLB) has announced that nine football players are not eligible to feature for their newly registered clubs in the First Week of the Onetouch Premier League following protests challenging their registration by their former clubs.
Mr K. Ampim Darko, Deputy General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association in a release copied to the GNA Sports said that the affected players had appeared before the Status Committee seeking clearance to feature for a number of Premier League clubs but their registration has been challenged.
The affected players are Benjamin Dodzie who has opted for Kumasi King Faisal FC but challenged by Aduana Stars FC, Michael Arhin registered for Tema Youth FC with protest from Biriwa Academy, Ahmed Toure opted for Kessben FC with protest from Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC. The rest are Ebenezer Tetteh who registered for Accra Hearts of Oak SC but with protest from Kpando Heart of Lions, Samuel Inkoom registered by Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC with protest from Sekondi Hasaacas FC, Akwasi Bobie Ansah registered for Kessben FC with protest from Kumasi King Faisal FC, Shilla Alhassan registered for Real Tamale United (RTU) with protest from Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC, George Yamoah registered for Kpando Heart of Lions with protest from Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC and Iddrisu Yahya opted for Kessben FC with protest from King Faisal FC. Mr Ampim-Darko said the registration of the players is therefore on hold until their cases have been determined.
He therefore cautioned the affected Clubs and players to accept the directive with strict compliance to ensure the smooth sail of the Premier League.
