Ghana football legend Abedi Pele Ayew has expressed his satisfaction at the progress of his son at French side Olympique Marseille.
The 17-year-old Andre ‘Dede’ signed a professional contract with club in May but was not expected to claim a first team place because of the calibre of players at Marseille.
But the midfielder, who can also play as an attacker, has pulled his chair under the Marseille table.
Dede has taken over France striker Djibril Cisse’s position and has played six matches so far for the club this season.
His father, who made his at the same club in the 1990s, is pleased with the progress of the Black Stars player and says Dede can go all the way.
"I am very happy with what he is doing,” Abedi Pele told Marseille television station OMTV.
“I thank his coach and all the people around him like Jose Anigo, Pape Diouf, as well as supporters of Marseille.
“André is a full player and he followed the instructions his coach.
“He knows how to take the ball and provoke a lot of goal scoring chances.
“I have confidence in him and with a little luck, he would be an important player for Marseille."
Dede is expected to recover from an ankle injury in time to play in Saturday’s league clash against Monaco.
