Management members of Hearts of Oak nearly threw punches at each other during a crisis meeting yesterday.

The meeting was called by CEO Stephen Akwettey immediately after an embarrassing 3-0 defeat at the hands of Liberty Professionals.

The meeting was called to address the dismal form of the league champions and their performance during the SWAG Cup game.

While Akwettey called for calm in finding a solution to club's unimpressive recent showing, his deputy Frank Nelson and marketing guru Vincent Odoitei argued for the immediate sacking of coach Karim Zito.

The heated debate nearly led to a brawl with Odoitei threatening to quit his post as the club?s marketing officer on Thursday.

Despite their disagreement over the future of Zito with the team, Akwettey admits it was an embarrassing defeat.

"It is difficult to take. I am in shock and in fact in my entire association with Hearts there has been nothing embarrassing like this before," Akwettey said.

"It is painful but we have to be level headed to find the solution to the problem in the club.

"Any hasty decision at this stage of the league is going to totally wreck our plans.

"I say you don't take important decision when you are angry. You wait until you calm down you that you can better assess the situation."
