Injured Hearts midfielder Laryea Kingston is out until the New Year.

The Ghanaian international missed Saturday's defeat to Motherwell after injuring his ankle in training and assistant head coach Stephen Frail today revealed Laryea won't play again this month.

The problem has been diagnosed as a ligament problem, with Laryea scheduled to see a specialist in London on Monday.

"It is unfortunate for Laryea," said Stephen. "It was an injury he suffered in training last week and he's going to see a specialist in London next week for an assessment.

"He is still in some discomfort and I don't expect to see him playing again until the New Year. He has proved to be a quick healer in the past so we'll just have to wait and see what happens."

Laryea will join Michael Stewart on the sidelines at Ibrox tomorrow, the former Manchester United midfielder beginning a two-match suspension.

"They are two big players for us so obviously we are going to miss them," added Stephen. "But it gives others an opportunity and we have a quality squad here.

"Rangers will be hurting after losing to Lyon in midweek. They are proud players and will be going out to get a victory tomorrow. But so will we and it's a match everyone is looking forward to"
