Kotoko extends lead at Sportive's expense

Accra, Dec 15, GNA - Kumasi Asante Kotoko extended their lead in the four-game old Onetouch Premiership after they spanked Tema Real Sportive 3-0 in their clash at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra on Saturday. The "Porcupine Warriors" scored twice and once in each half respectively to make nonsense of the dominance of the host in the session.

On an afternoon where Kotoko's Harrison Afful, Francis Akuafo and Jordan Opoku showed exceptional class, the victors were bound to overhaul the home side who exhibited lack of vision upfront throughout the duel.

The Porcupine Warriors started business as early as the third minute when Adamu Mohammed shot the team ahead when he profited from a goal mouth scramble.

The cheers that met the goal might have challenged Sportive to express themselves, which they did perfectly well except posting an equalizer.

Their sudden switch and dominance was that strong that when Kotoko finally solidified their lead with two minutes to recess through Eric Bekoe, the roar that greeted it was as though the league had been won at that moment.

Bekoe's goal resulted from an effort from Kwabena Yaro who had been a thorn in the flesh of the Sportive defence built around Samuel Hanson. Kotoko resumed the second half much better with another goal beckoning with every move upfront. It was therefore with least surprise that the gifted Akuafo finally wrapped up the game in the 76th minute with a masterpiece of a non drop shot fit for a genius.
