Kumasi Asante Kotoko beat visiting Sekondi Hasaacas 2-1 in their seventh week Onetouch Premier League match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday.

The first half ended goalless with both teams playing it hard. It was however Kotoko who took the lead in the 50th minute through Francis Akwafful who connected home a perfect pass from Baba Adamu Amando.

Hasaacas nearly equalized two minutes later but a goal bound header from Ekow Aikins was headed away by Daniel Acquah with goalkeeper Abdulai Sulemana completely displaced.

The visitors brought on Isaac Donkor for Kennedy Nti in the 58th minute but it was still Kotoko who were on top as they made free inflows and pinned Hasaacas to their vital area but a chance that came their way was wasted by Prince Amponsah who shot wide in the 60th minute. Both teams made some changes but the substitutions went in favour of Kotoko with the introduction of Stephen Oduro for Jordan Opoku, Kwabena Yaro for Amando and Nana Arhin Duah for Prince Amponsah in the 57th, 67th and 71st minutes respectively. It therefore came as no surprise when Kotoko went ahead to score their second goal in the 75th minute when over-lapping Samuel Incoom moved deep into the vital area of Hasaacas to score from Akwafful's in-swinger.

Eric Bekoe who did not find his feet this time round was put on target in the 83rd minute but the striker surprisingly shot wide in a goalmouth melee.

Hasaacas exhausted their substitution and put up a fighting spirit to glitter in the dying minutes of the game to redeem a goal on the 90th minute mark through a free kick well taken by Joseph Bissah. They nearly caused havoc two minutes later in the time added on but goalkeeper Sulemana was on target to make a timely save of close shot from substitute Isaac Donkor to end proceedings in favour of the 'Porcupine Warriors'.
