Nigeria's German coach Berti Vogts has named eight Africa Cup of Nations debutants in his squad for Ghana 2008.
The squad will be captained by the experienced Nwankwo Kanu, who will be making his 5th appearance at Africa's football showcase.
The newcomers to the Super Eagles squad are defenders Rabiu Afolabi, Onyekachi Apam, Danny Shittu, Ifeanyi Emeghara and Richard Eromoigbe; midfielders Onyekachi Okonkwo and Dickson Etuhu, and striker Ikechukwu Uche.
The squad of 23 are based in ten different nations, with no home-based players making the final cut.
Nigeria kicks off its campaign against one of the tournament favourites Ivory Coast in Sekondi on 21 January.
Mali and Benin make up the rest of Group B.
