Former Green Eagles captain, Christian Chukwu (MFR), has warned the Super Eagles to take the March 11, 2001 World Cup qualifier in Ghana against Ghana's Black Stars seriously.

He said this is so because the Ghana match could be the deciding factor on whether the Eagles will qualify for the Korea/Japan World Cup next year.

Chukwu who spoke in Enugu said that despite Ghana's current predicament, they remain the biggest threat to Nigeria's quest for a third consecutive World Cup appearance.

The former coach of Kenya's national football team, Harambee Stars, advised Technical Adviser, Johnnaes Bonfre, to begin early preparation for the Ghana match as late preparation would not help the players.

He also urged the Super Eagles players not to go to bed because of Ghana's problem but should work extra hard until the World Cup ticket is secured.

Chukwu who is now back at Rangers as Technical Adviser said that Liberia should not be wished away as they could spring a surprise.
