Junior Agogo has admitted he would welcome the opportunity to test himself at the highest level in the future.

The Nottingham Forest striker was one of the stars of the recent Africa Cup of Nations, grabbing three goals for host nation Ghana in their run to the semi-finals of the competition.

His fine performances attracted the attention of a host of clubs across Europe, and while maintaining that he is happy to remain with Forest for now he admitted that he does still harbour ambitions of eventually joining a top-flight club.

"My aim is to play at the highest level because, as a footballer, everyone's ambition is to play in the top division of whatever country their living in and I'm no different," Agogo told Sky Sports News.

"My main focus at the minute though is to help get Nottingham Forest back into the Championship.

"The people of Nottingham want it so bad. They've been craving promotion for the past couple of years and it hasn't happened yet, but I do believe it will happen this year."

Agogo also revealed that his return to England has been something of a culture shock following the god-like status he enjoys back in his homeland.

"In Ghana I can't do nothing. I can't go anywhere," he said.

"I have to have security with me everywhere I go and coming back here isn't really a come down, but its so weird going from that level to coming down here, from people wanting to talk to me, or take pictures, or want to touch you. It's quite surreal.

"I'm happy to be back though."
