Accra, Aug. 6, GNA - The Sakumono Tennis Club at the weekend made nonsense of home superiority when they stormed Kumasi to outclass 4 Garrison Officers Mess Club 9-4 in a friendly game played at the Garden City, Kumasi.

The Sakumono team which won four singles and five doubles games sold out a classy performance to overwhelm their hosts. The hosts had high hope as they went into the game with Justin and Paul combining well to displace Sakumomo's James and Nii Nii 7-3 in the first doubles game.

The pair, relying heavily on home support, held onto their serves and broke their opponents at crucial points in a manner that also inspired compatriots Asamoah and M.D to beat Frank and Boakye in the second fixture.

Chris Adumoah and Nii Bortey however were to turn the tables around for the Sakumono team with a fabulous play spiced with creativity, precision and power in the game against Osei and 'Lawyer'. Gingered by the fight back, Kofi Babson and Samuel Donkor next stepped onto the court blazing from all angles to pull Sakumono even by beating Sammy and Uncle 7-5.

With the scores leveled, Sakumono put their best foot forward and ensured they accelerated the entire afternoon riding on the wings of Sam Adablah and William Akuffo who sent the visitors into the lead for the first time by defeating Amissah and John 7-2.

Sakumono's Captain, Ben Fankah and Robert Kpodo followed suit in their game against Nii Kwei and Sadiq before Pascal and Malik wrapped up the doubles for the visitors by thrashing Yaw and Bab 7-3. Kpodo, Pascal and Boakye all proved too strong for Sadiq, Bab and Asamoah in the singles meet to keep Sakumono cruising whilst Yaw and Nii Kwei beat Malik and Akuffu respectively in the other duels. In the ladies singles, the hosts Bridget Attah lost 4-7 to Gabriella whiles home favourite, Gladys made amends by beating Louisa Davis 7-0.
