"Who is Sulley to Ghana" - Grunsah

Alhaji Grunsah FOUNDER AND Bankroller of King Faisal FC, Alhaji Abdul Karim Grunsah, insists the Black Stars are capable of making it to next year's World Cup in South Africa without Sulley Muntari.

“Who is Sulley to Ghana?” he quipped. “Sulley is zero to Ghana and without him the Black Stars can surmount every obstacle that comes their way,” he said in an interview with Fox FM.

Grunsah added, “Even without Baba Yara, Abukari, Dogo Moro, James Adjei and all the other great players, the Black Stars remained a major force to reckon with; so who is Sulley?”.

Sulley's mother, Hajiya Kande recently caused a stir when she emphatically stated in a radio interview that without her son, Ghana would no longer be a force to reckon with on the continent.

“No Sulley, no Ghana Black Stars,” she yelled on air, threatening not to allow her son to feature for the senior national team any longer, citing media bashings of Sulley.

Strangely, Sulley failed to answer calls for Ghana's clash with Mali last Sunday. The Inter Milan player claimed he was injured and asked to be excused from last Sunday's 2010 World Cup qualifier.

The Black Stars, featuring new faces on the day, managed to humble the star-studded Malian side 2-0 in front of their home fans, despite Muntari's absence.

Grunsah described Hajia Kande's comments as disrespectful and "un-Islamic".

"If Hajia likes she should tell Muntari not to play for the Black Stars again. After all we won in Mali without Muntari," Grunsah told Peace FM.

"She claims she is a Muslim but her statement was not made with humility but with arrogance.

"But for the Ghana national team, would he have been spotted by the foreign teams?
