F.C Medeamma was a good test- Stars Coach

Head Coach of local Black Stars side, Herbert Addo has showered praise on Division One side, F.C Medeamma after a gallant show to hold his side to a 1-1 drawn game in their final test match played at the Legon Presec Park last Wednesday.

According to Coach Addo, the Tarkwa based club gave them a very good test as the exercise was a profitable one with Medeamma appearing to be the toughest side they have played in their series of friendly games since assuming camping two weeks ago.

The Stars who are preparing for their first-leg CHAN qualifier against Burkina Faso next week in Ouagadougou have recorded victories in all the test matches played only for them to be held to a 1-1 drawn game by F.C Medeamma on Wednesday.

He praised the likes of former Kumasi Asante Kotoko skipper, Joe Hendricks, Raphael Essien, Alhaji Yusif Nurudeen Abubakar Mahadi, former Hearts of Oak and forward Hans Coffie who got the equalizer for Medeamma.

He also hinted that F.C Medeamma stands a great chance of making it to the premier league should they carry on with their splendid performance and quality play.

Being the final test game to assess the real strength of the local black Stars before their date with their Burkinabe counterparts on March 14th for their first-leg CHAN qualifier, the technical team said the exercise enabled them to identify some lapses that would be corrected before their departure to Ouagadougou next week.

In a related development, Coach Hebert Addo has pruned the playing body from thirty-six to twenty-five after the F.C Medeamma game.

The selected players will on Monday move to Tamale where they will be camping till Thursday before departing for Burkina Faso.

Tamale was selected as the final camp base by team officials to aid the team acclimatize.

The Black Stars are seeking another appearance at the CHAN after grabbing silver in the first edition of the competition designed by CAF for only home-based players of its member countries.

The winner over the two-leg tie qualifies for the competition scheduled 3for 2011.
