Mainz may turn back deal for Adiyiah

Mainz have yet to decide whether or not to sign Ghana international Dominic Adiyiah from AC Milan despite agreeing terms with both the player and the Italian club.

Mainz coach Thomas Tuchel may yet change his mind about signing Adiyiah, as the club's general manager Christian Heidel explained.

"We are not putting ourselves under any pressure,'' explained Heidel in kicker.

"He is one of several options. We still have to consider whether we want to sign a young striker or rather an experienced player.

"If we are not convinced, then we will stick with the players we have. Our team is competitive and we could start (the season) tomorrow.''
