Hearts of Oak playmaker Kofi Abanga remains focused on playing his best for the Accra based side when they face his old club Aduana Stars in the GHALCA Top 4 Match Day 2 fixture at Dormaa on Wednesday.
Abanga joined Hearts from the then Division One League side Aduana two seasons ago. But the Dormaa Ahenkro based side have made the jump from earning promotion to winning the top flight league in only their debut season.
Abanga still have fond memories of his time at Aduana, but knows the shirt he will be wearing on Saturday. Even if the Glo Ghana Premier League champions have the history of debutantes excelling in the Top 4 competition.
“I will play my best for Hearts to win because now I play for Hearts and though I enjoyed their hospitality and love during my time at Aduana, I don’t think that will stop me from helping Hearts to win,” Abanga told Peace Prince Essuman of Uniq FM’s Drive Sports.
And winning is the only goal of Abanga and his Hearts of Oak teammates following the opening day 2-2 draw against defending champions Heart of Lions.
The midfielder popularly called Abangamania says the failure to gain all points on offer means the Phobians now have to win the game against Aduana to get back into the picture before their next game against current log leaders Ashantigold.
“Its unfortunate that we drew against Heart of Lions in our first game so we will go all out for our first 3 points in the competition which we want to win for the third time,” stated Kofi Abanga.
