Essipong, (W/R) Aug. 7, GNA - A six-day Taekwando clinic for coaches and instructors organized by the World Taekwando Federation and the Ghana Taekwando Association ended on Friday with a call on adherents of the sport to endeavour to improve upon their skills to win laurels.
Mr Beresford Amui, Western Regional Sports Development Officer, who made the call at the closing session of the clinic, said the sport should be made attractive for the public especially the youth to participate in it.
He said Taekwando is a lively physical exercise and not about fighting but helps to improve the well-being of the individual and encourages discipline amongst its disciples.
Mr Amui thanked the Regional Taekwando Association and the National Sports Council for helping to organize the clinic to train trainers and instructors of the sport in the Region.
Mr Alex Con-Nutsugah, Chairman of the Regional Taekwando Association, thanked the South Korean Government for providing trainers from the Korean Peace Corps and equipment for the clinic.
He prayed that the South Korean Government would assist to organize follow up clinics in the Region to popularize the sport.
