Ex national, Arnold Warriors, Hearts goalkeeper Nanabanyin Crentsil has expressed his utmost desire to render his service to Ghana as goalkeepers’ trainer. Currently domiciled in the United States of America, the former Ashgold(Goldfields) stopper has hinted that he has acquired enough savvy to place it at the disposal of the nation by way of training goalkeepers.

He told Happy FM’s Charles Osei Asibey on “Where are they” in an exclusive interview yesterday that: If I am giving the chance as a goalkeepers trainer in the national teams, why not, I will avail my self, having undertaken coaching courses in goalkeeping.”

Nanabanyin bemoaned how the local league and the juvenile soccer (Colts)is taking a nosedive, and admonished that pragmatic steps should be taken to save the sport that has brought the country so much honours. The former Dawu goalie pointed out that the low patronage to the various league centres could be linked to the unattractive nature of the local league. “We have so many armatures in the local league. Personally, I have lost interest in the local league because the players don’t give their best shot as it was during our time,” added the former keeper. He recollects with pride his resplendent goalkeeping in the Kotoko-Goldfields Knockout game at the then Accra Stadium and Ghana versus Norway. He played alongside charges like Abedi Pele, Tony Yeboah, Eben Hagan, Malam Yahaya Sammy Adjei, Joe Addo, Richard ‘Oleley’ Kingson, among others.
