FOUNDER and chairman of Kumasi Based King Faisal, Alhaji Karim Grunsah has called on

government to lend a hand to the running of football in the country since clubs are

suffering financially.

Speaking at the Ghana Football Association extraordinary congress, the outspoken

Alhaji Grunsah launched a humble appeal to the government to come to the aid of the

clubs as they are suffering.

"During the World Cup, government sponsored thousands of people to South Africa to

watch and support the Black Stars, so why can't government help the clubs that are

developing the players?” he queried.

Grunsah continued: “The country got money from the World Cup and I wonder why we the

clubs are not being made to benefit from this."

The sometimes controversial Faisal chairman made these comments after most of the

clubs complained about financing the reserves league which was approved by

congress.

"Already we (the clubs) are finding things hard financially so this reserves league

concept will be too much of a burden," he stressed.
