  Sin is like dirt on your body. Dirt cannot be covered with cosmetics or pomade. It has to be washed away with soap and water. Similarly, sin cannot be covered with good deeds. Sin can only be washed away with the Blood of Jesus Christ. Hence salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone.
