Bishop Boxing Promotions signs WBO Africa champion Abubakari and Majid Yakubu

Bishop Boxing Promotions has announced the signing of WBO Africa Superlightweight Champion Faisal "Poncho Power" Abubakari and rising prospect Majid Yakubu.

The strategic additions mark a key step in the promotion’s mission to revitalize Ghana’s boxing scene by combining established championship experience with next-generation talent.

Abubakari, current WBO Africa Superlightweight titleholder, brings regional prestige and veteran leadership to Bishop’s roster.

Majid Yakubu, a promising young contender, joins with ambitions to climb the ranks under Bishop’s development program.

Bishop Boxing Promotions plans to integrate both fighters into a schedule of regular events, improved training resources, and community outreach initiatives designed to rebuild local talent pipelines and attract international attention.
