Ignatius Osei Fosu and Kim Lars are both football coaches
Assistant coach of the Sudanese national team, Ignatius Osei Fosu, has urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to relieve Kim Lars Björkegren of his role as one of the assistant coaches of the Black Stars.
According to him, the Black Queens coach should not be handling two positions at the same time but should rather focus on one team to give his best.
The former Dreams FC coach cited the postponement of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) to July, which would clash with the FIFA World Cup, as the basis for his demand.

Speaking in an interview with Luv FM in Kumasi, Osei Fosu stressed that Kim Lars needs full focus to qualify the Black Queens for the Women’s World Cup through the 2026 WAFCON, and authorities must act.
“They have to change him [Kim Lars] because during the World Cup the Black Queens will be playing the tournament [WAFCON]. I am not calling for a change for its own sake, they have to act unless they are throwing one of the tournaments under the bus.
"The Women’s World Cup is more important to me. I am their number one supporter, so the management cannot play with it. The Black Queens’ tournament will serve as a qualifier for the World Cup, so it is very important and we cannot let anybody compromise it. That is why I am saying that if the Black Stars get to the World Cup final, there will be a clash,” he said.
As part of a restructuring initiative for the Black Stars, Kim Lars was appointed as one of the assistant coaches to strengthen the technical team ahead of the Mundial.
