The Ghana Cricket Association has held a media interaction with members of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) and team officials at the Achimota Cricket Oval ahead of the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa Sub Regional Qualifier B, building anticipation for the tournament.

The competition will feature six teams—Ghana, Tanzania, Eswatini, Malawi, Saint Helena, and Seychelles—competing in a round-robin format from March 24 to 29, 2026.

The top two teams will progress to the Regional Qualifier, bringing them a step closer to securing a place at the 2028 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

LOC Chairman Nii Okai Evans-Anfom stressed the significance of successfully hosting the tournament, noting that “We’re aiming for a memorable tournament that promotes tourism and African friendship.”

President of the Ghana Cricket Association, Emmanuel O. Asare, expressed confidence in the country’s readiness for the competition.

“We’ve gathered resources for the team to start training, and we’re hoping to give our best shot.”

Head Coach Rajinder Parsad highlighted the team’s preparations, saying, “Preparations are going on according to modern cricket standards. This tournament is very important for us, and we’re hoping to do our best.”

Captain Obed Harvey echoed the sentiment, “We’ve been preparing for a long time, and we’re ready. We’re looking forward to using the facilities to our advantage and getting support from Ghanaian fans.”

Teams are expected to arrive on March 22, with March 23 set aside for practice ahead of the tournament’s official start on March 24, 2026.
