Kumasi, Feb. 4, GNA - Coach Henry Wellington of Kumasi-based King Faisal FC on Thursday announced his resignation from the Club with immediat= e effect. The coach took over the Club after poor results forced the exit of Coach Zdravko Logurasic and from then he managed to take Faisal from the bottom rungs of the Premier League table to its present 13th position. Coach Wellington cited personal reasons for his decision when he spoke to the GNA Sports in Kumasi.

The decision has, however, been sharply disputed by a high ranking official of the Club, who asked not to be named because he says he has not been mandated to do.

The official however reckons that all had not been well between the Founder, Alhaji Karim Grunsah and the technical head, over what the latter= 's sees as unwelcome interference in his job. The GNA Sports was told that on many occasions Coach Wellington had refused to be bullied into selecting some players whom he felt would not fi= t well into his game plan.

He is also said to be not happy with the delay on the part of the Club's management to sign contractual agreement with him. Alhaji Grunsah, in reaction to the coach's resignation, said managem= ent respected his decision and has therefore accepted it in good faith. The Club, he said would look for a worthy replacement and urged the supporters to remain calm.
