Former Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder, Frederick Ansah Botchway has stated that the Black Stars will perform well at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to him, the team is endowed with talented and skillful footballers who can turn crucial moments in games to the national team’s advantage.
The player, who plies his trade with Zimbabwean side Dynamos FC, emphasised that the team’s handlers must make the right decisions for the squad to succeed at the Mundial.

“Yeah, we can. We have a good setup, and I believe that when we do things right, we’ll get there. Ghana is one country that has been doing so well at the World Cup. Even if we don’t get exactly where we want to go or achieve everything we desire, we still see ourselves doing some magic, doing something good,” he said during an interview with GhanaWeb TV’s Sports Check.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars’ poor results in two international friendlies in March 2026 led to the dismissal of head coach Otto Addo.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is currently in talks with several managers to appoint one to lead the team to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
