Henry Asante Twum is the Communications Director of the GFA
Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum, has revealed that no final decisions have been made regarding new call-ups to the Ghana national football team as the newly appointed head coach begins his evaluation of the squad.
Speaking to Sporty FM on the team’s current situation, Asante Twum indicated that the coach is still in the early stages of settling into the role and engaging with players across the board.
“New faces in terms of players? I don’t know. No decision has been finalized yet. The coach has only just taken over; he has been engaging and speaking with everyone,” he said.
According to him, the coach is taking a hands-on approach, with plans to personally connect with all players, including those currently sidelined through injury.
“I know he plans to visit all our players, including those who are currently injured. He has already shared his expectations with me,” Asante Twum added.
Despite concerns over injuries within the squad, he expressed confidence in the team’s depth and readiness.
“The players are ready, but we are plagued by several injury concerns. Despite that, we still have a very strong team,” he noted.
On the composition of the technical team, the GFA spokesperson remained tight-lipped, insisting that details about the backroom staff will be officially communicated at a later stage.
“Regarding the backroom staff, I cannot confirm anything for now, as those details will be provided at a press conference,” he concluded.
