The President of the Africa Armwrestling Federation, Charles Osei Asibey, has announced that the 15th Africa Armwrestling Championship has formed a partnership with Next Level Energy Drink for financial support.

He stated that the sponsorship deal will see the firm invest about $45,000 into the competition to help manage finances and provide essential backing.

Speaking at a press conference organized in Accra on April 29, 2026, Asibey indicated that the package will elevate armwrestling to higher standards of excellence, saying: “We are going to the next level with a cash support of $45,000 from Next Level Energy Drink. As I speak, Egypt, Côte d’Ivoire, and others have arrived.”

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Next Level Energy Drink Global, Philip Gross, expressed appreciation to the local authorities for the partnership.

“Thank you for having us here to be part of this community. I love being here, and thanks to our long-standing partners in Ghana. We appreciate the GTA for welcoming us and look forward to giving back to the community,” he commented.

Deputy CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Ben Anane Nsiah, also added: “We are at the next level of everything. If we have a solid brand like Adonko partnering with armwrestling, it is great. Sports tourism is everywhere, and we want Ghana to be part of great experiences worldwide.”

Vice Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the Africa Armwrestling Championship, Dr Kofi Addo Agyekum, stated that Ghana is ready to host the event.

“I can say without hesitation that Africa has come and Accra is ready, and you will feel safe here. We want to say a big thank you to Next Level, and we pray that our relationship will be very solid. As the president said, Ghana Armwrestling is 10 years old and has gone through challenges, but I believe we have done well. You will not regret sponsoring us,” he noted.

The event will take place from May 1-2, 2026, at the Borteyman Sports Complex with 21 African countries set to compete for glory.
