National Football League star, Stefon Diggs has been acquitted of all felony charges after reports alleged that he assaulted his personal chef.

The case stemmed from an incident on December 2, 2025, at his residence in Massachusetts, where former live-in chef Jamila Adams testified that Diggs slapped and choked her during an argument.

Diggs, a former New England Patriots player, was charged with felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault and battery, but pleaded not guilty to all counts.

During a court sitting on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, the jury cleared Diggs of all charges, ruling that there was no evidence to substantiate the claims.

Diggs’ attorney, Mitch Schuster, argued that the player had been wrongly accused in an attempt to exploit him and damage his professional career.

“The evidence has shown what we’ve maintained from day one: Diggs was wrongly accused, and this case represents exactly the kind of opportunistic targeting that players can face the moment they step off the field,” Schuster said in a statement reported by AFP.

Diggs was an integral part of the New England Patriots team that reached the Super Bowl final, where they lost to Seattle.

Following the allegations, the four-time Pro Bowl receiver was released by the club and has not played for any team while fighting the legal battle.
