Players of Ghana's senior women's national football team, the Black Queens, are set to receive substantial financial rewards during the upcoming Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after betPawa announced a lucrative bonus package aimed at motivating the squad.
The company revealed that each Black Queens player will receive a bonus of $20,000 for every victory recorded during the tournament.
The announcement was made by betPawa's Head of Local Marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for Africa, Borah Omary, during the unveiling of the company's latest support initiative for Ghanaian football.
"For the Black Queens, whenever they play during AFCON and they win, every player is going to receive $20,000," Omary announced.
The initiative forms part of betPawa's broader commitment to rewarding player performance and enhancing welfare across Ghanaian football.
The company already operates its "Locker Room Bonus" programme in the Ghana Premier League, under which players on winning teams receive GH¢450 directly into their mobile money accounts after every victory.
"So for all the Ghana Premier League games, both women and men, every time they win a game, players of the winning team receive GH¢450 directly to their mobile phones," he explained.
According to Omary, the expanded incentive programme underscores betPawa's belief in supporting players and recognising their contributions on the pitch.

"Football is more than just a game in Ghana. It is one of the greatest unifiers," he said, reaffirming the company's commitment to the development of football in the country.
The announcement comes as the Black Queens prepare for the continental showpiece, with expectations high that the additional incentives will provide further motivation for strong performances at the tournament.
