Carlos Queiroz has called on the Black Stars to embrace the weight of expectation ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, reminding players that they carry the responsibility of writing the next chapter in Ghana’s football history.

In a video shared by the Ghana Football Association, the national team camp was split into two groups as Queiroz tested players on Ghana’s World Cup history in a lively and interactive session.

The exercise brought moments of laughter and competition, with players engaging each other in a relaxed but focused atmosphere.

However, the session also carried a deeper message from the head coach, who used the opportunity to underline what it means to represent Ghana at the global stage.

“Everything we talk here today is history so now we are here together to make history for Ghana. So remember our responsibility,” he said.

Queiroz stressed that wearing the national jersey goes beyond selection, describing it as a duty that must be honoured both on and off the pitch.

“When they start to put your shirts with your number, it is a great responsibility for you. When you sleep today, think about that,” he added.

The Ghana coach also referenced the legacy left by past generations, urging the current squad to see themselves as the next group capable of inspiring future players.

“These guys who built this history, it is a message to us. We have the opportunity in the next World Cup to have other guys also talk about you,” he said.
