Legendary footballer Zlatan Ibrahimović has cautioned the Three Lions that the Black Stars could pose a serious challenge at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to him, Ghana’s national team is endowed with talented players who compete across Europe and can deliver a strong performance against England.
Assessing Group L, Ibrahimović noted that England and Croatia are the obvious strong sides but believes Ghana could trouble either team.

He added that Panama would likely struggle, given the relative weakness of their squad.
“I would like to choose Group L. We have England, will it be coming home? Let’s see. We have Croatia; I have some roots from Croatia also, so I’m supporting them in this tournament. And then we have Ghana, big talents, let’s see what they bring. We have Panama, unfortunately, in this group I think they will be a punching bag.
"England and Croatia will fight for the first spot, and Ghana might disturb them and take some points. But I don’t see Panama. I know Thierry said about Haiti, but I think he’s being nice now,” he said on Fox TV.
Ghana will face England on June 23, 2026, in one of the most anticipated matches of the tournament, given the talent both sides possess.
The Black Stars will also battle Panama and Croatia in their bid to secure a place in the knockout stage and make history.
