Head coach Carlos Queiroz is expected to field a strong starting XI as the Black Stars begin their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign against Panama on June 17, 2026.

Despite the absence of midfielder Thomas Partey, the team has a handful of talents competing for starting spots and ready to make the nation proud.

In goal, Accra Hearts of Oak’s Benjamin Asare is expected to maintain his position.

The center-back pairing will be Jonas Adjetey and Jerome Opoku, whose physicality and agility will be key to the setup. Marvin Senaya will occupy the right-back position, while Gideon Mensah takes charge of the left-back role.

In midfield, Kwasi Sibo and Elisha Owusu will sit at the base to provide stability and control, while Caleb Yirenkyi will add creativity to the attack.

Manchester City winger Antoine Semenyo and Jordan Ayew will operate on the flanks, aiming to threaten Panama’s defense and create scoring opportunities.

Coventry City’s Brandon Thomas-Asante could lead the line as the center forward.

The likes of Inaki Williams, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Ernest Nuamah, Alidu Seidu, and others are expected to be on the bench.

It is worth noting that this is a probable lineup based on player performances. Coach Carlos Queiroz will release the official starting XI at least an hour before kickoff.
