Dave Bishop, CEO of Bishop Boxing Promotions, has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Global Partnership Leadership & Sports Management from Kennedy University of France, recognizing his work at the intersection of sport, entrepreneurship, and international community development.

Bishop is also completing an M.B.A. in International Business and will graduate at the university’s December convocation in Boston, Massachusetts.

A proud partner of both Ghanaian and American communities, Dr Bishop blends an international sports career with hands-on, grassroots impact.

As Development Chief of Ekroful, Ghana, he has driven projects that expand employment, support small businesses, improve infrastructure, and create youth programs — strengthening local livelihoods and community resilience.

“Sport is more than competition — it’s a bridge to opportunity, a school for character, and a way to spread shared prosperity,” Bishop said. “When we invest in people and their potential, we lift communities and open futures for many, not few.”

Bishop is also running for Second Vice President of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA). His platform emphasizes transparent, athlete-centered leadership, systematic talent development, and stronger international partnerships to bring resources, visibility, and professional standards to Ghanaian boxing.

Colleagues and community partners praise Bishop’s twofold approach: using global networks to attract investment and expertise while building clear, local pathways for athletes and entrepreneurs through his promotional work.

The honorary doctorate recognizes his commitment to professionalizing sports management with sustainable partnerships and social impact at its core.

As he prepares for his December graduation and continues his GBA campaign, supporters in both Ghana and the United States say Bishop’s business experience, community-first values, and dedication to athlete welfare position him to advance regional development and the future of boxing in Ghana.
