Emmanuel Obeng crowned champion at 2nd Senchi Invitational Golf Tournament

Accra-based tour executive Emmanuel Obeng emerged as the star of the second Senchi Invitational Golf Tournament after producing a brilliant display to clinch the title at the Royal Senchi Hotel and Resort golf course in Ghana's Eastern Region.

Representing the Bok Nam Kim Golf Club, Obeng returned an outstanding gross score of 65 to beat a competitive field of more than 30 golfers to lift the prestigious trophy.

Playing on the Royal Senchi course for the very first time, Obeng maintained his composure throughout the five-hour contest before edging Ghana Golfers Association Vice President Akwasi Poku in a dramatic playoff to seal victory.

His triumph was rewarded with the championship trophy and an all-expenses-paid trip to Kenya, courtesy of the tournament sponsors.

Speaking after his victory, an excited Obeng praised the organizers for delivering a memorable event.

"I feel honoured to have won this prestigious competition. The organizers did an excellent job, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful event," he said.

The tournament, organized by Royal Senchi Hotel and Resort and sponsored by Kenya Airways, also celebrated outstanding performances across several categories.

Kingsley Landers won the men's handicap competition after posting an impressive 50 net points, while Cathy Fabbi dominated the ladies' division to claim top honours.

Landers and Leticia Amponsah Mensah also captured the Men's and Ladies Longest Drive awards respectively, with Richard Torku and Cathy Fabbi taking home the Closest-to-the-Pin prizes.

The championship concluded with a prize presentation attended by Kenya's High Commissioner to Ghana, Colonel Shem Amadi (Rtd), Kenya Airways Senior Country Manager Peter Musola, Royal Senchi Managing Director Victor Muthama and Labadi Beach Hotel Managing Director David Eduaful.
