Baba Yara Stadium pitch is undergoing renovation works
The National Sports Authority (NSA) has commenced massive renovation works at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Videos and images circulating online show individuals, both men and women, clearing grass from the turf and plucking the weed.
Others were seen digging out sand from the surface to prepare it for subsequent procedures aimed at giving the pitch a facelift.

Additional footage shows women sitting and clearing grass, as well as sifting it to ensure the pitch is in good shape for further work.
These efforts form part of plans to keep the pitch in good condition for various sporting activities, including Black Stars matches.
The videos and images have surprised many, with fans stunned that the pitch could deteriorate so quickly. Questions have been raised about the effectiveness of regular maintenance measures.
