Ferran Torres has been criticised unfairly – Rodri

Manchester City midfielder Rodrigo Cascante, popularly known as Rodri, has defended his teammate Ferran Torres against harsh criticisms.

According to him, Torres has consistently proven to be a decisive player, delivering in crucial moments, just as he did for Spain by scoring the extra-time winner against Argentina to clinch the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

After a brief rest, millions of fans gathered in the capital to celebrate the title. The squad paraded through the streets in an open-top bus, making history as supporters waved flags and cheered.

Speaking at the event, Rodri urged the crowd to cheer for the FC Barcelona striker, acknowledging that Torres sometimes faces unfair criticism when things don’t go his way in matches. He described him as a “special player.”

“I’d like to remind you of one person who has been criticized unfairly many times, and he’s very special to me. Let’s chant at once… Ferran! Ferran! Ferran!”

The Spanish striker has often faced backlash from Barcelona fans, who argue that he misses too many chances that end up costing the team major trophies.
